The Badlands

The Lakota Indian Tribe gave this land its name, “Mako Sica,” meaning “land bad.”  Our first impression of this place was that it was an amazing yet eerie sight with little signs of humankind or animal life for that matter. Our initial idea regarding no breathing life changed moments later when we entered the Badlands and discovered the silhouettes of bison and antelope in the horizon and prairie dogs covering the field whilst heading into the sunset.  The song of Western Meadowlarks every time I turn around–music to my ears!  We were taken away by the whole wildlife wonderland!
