The Cotswolds

We flew in early this morning on a red eye flight straight from Denver and got a rental car in a blur to drive to Oxford, England.  We stopped at Cafe CoCo there to have our first [of many] basic English breakfast: grilled tomato, baked beans, eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, and toast (opting out of the blood pudding, bleh!).img_4229Our next stop- Burford, England was a charming little village town with many tea shops containing tucked in fireplaces. We strolled the streets and settled in for some hot chocolate and a cheese plate.Chipping Campden is where we chose to stay in the Cotswolds for a night at a cozy B&B called Eight Bells Inn.  After settling in, we tried a local pub then found this gem called Huxleys to relax with a cocktail “Hygge style”. img_4248.jpgWe found it to be the best option for our first dinner in England too and had the most delicious traditional English dessert called Sticky Toffee Pudding after a tasty supper.img_4251Broadway, England was a pristine village town with the matching beige brick and stone buildings with thatched and stone roofs to boot. Also notice the perfectly manicured grass and hedges. We enjoyed strolling along the peaceful streets doing some window shopping and gazing at the ornamental moss gracing each building.  Next up, Bath, England…
